Playing along at home during E3 is a time-honored tradition among internet nerds, myself included, and having skimmed the<\/a> press<\/a> conferences<\/a> the message seems to be, \u201cWe have some great games coming in 2015 or later!\u00a0 Please look forward to them!\u201d\u00a0 That said\u2026there are a few promising games coming out this year.\u00a0 Here\u2019s what interests me the most.<\/p>\n

Coming in 2014<\/h2>\n

Super Smash Bros<\/strong> (WiiU) \u2013 I have yet to try a game in this series, but it sounds fun and kid friendly.\u00a0 The inclusion of Pac-man and the care the developers have taken with his design, moves and stages is beyond charming and bodes well for the game overall.<\/p>\n

Destiny<\/strong> (PS3\/4, 360 & XbOne) \u2013 Usgamer has described it as \u201cHalo without the suffocating limitations of the Halo sandbox and Microsoft’s corporate conservatism.\u201d<\/a> Since I loved (and still love) the First HALO \u2013 but merely like the sequels \u2013 that\u2019s kind of all I need to know.<\/p>\n

Sunset Overdrive<\/strong> (XbOne) \u2013 While I will not buy a system just to play it, this game looks like a crazy Dreamcast game, if they made crazy Dreamcast games on modern hardware.<\/p>\n

Ori and the Blind Forest<\/strong> (XbOne) \u2013 This may be the first M$ game that kind of makes me wish I was thinking of buying an Xbox One.<\/p>\n

Entwined<\/strong> (PS3\/4) \u2013 I am a sucker for art games, and I can see myself picking this up once the PS3 version is released.<\/p>\n

Honorable mentions\u2026<\/h3>\n

Bayonetta 2<\/strong> (WiiU) \u2013 The inclusion of the first Bayonetta in the retail package makes this a pretty sweet deal, but I think I need to finish The Wonderful 101 first.<\/p>\n

Hyrule Warriors<\/strong> (WiiU) \u2013 it sounds more interesting that it has any right being, but I can\u2019t imagine picking this over the other above games.<\/p>\n

Coming in 2015<\/h2>\n

Zelda<\/strong> (WiiU) \u2013 Holy Crap, that in-game engine trailer!\u00a0 I am sold.\u00a0 If I didn\u2019t have a WiiU, I would get one for this game.<\/p>\n

Splatoon<\/strong> (WiiU) \u2013 this looks fast paced, colorful and fun!\u00a0 I\u2019m getting a Dreamcast vibe here again, in a very good way.<\/p>\n

Xenoblade Chronicles X<\/strong> (WiiU) \u2013 this continues to look amazing, but I\u2019d best go back and beat the first Chronicles first.<\/p>\n

The Witness<\/strong> (PS4) \u2013 I love Braid, I loved Myst.\u00a0 This looks beautiful.\u00a0 Sign me up.<\/p>\n

Inside<\/strong> (XbOne) \u2013 It\u2019s from the developer of Limbo, and it looks stunning.<\/p>\n

Coming Sometime<\/h2>\n

Mass Effect 4, New Starfox, Star Wars Battlefront, and Mirror\u2019s Edge 2 could all be great, but we know so little. We got Zero new news on the next Deus Ex or Final Fantasy.<\/p>\n

Stuff I wanted to see but didn\u2019t<\/h2>\n

No Beyond Good & Evil 2
\nNo Dragon Quest VII
\nNo Metroid ANYTHING.<\/p>\n

So, some good stuff coming soonish and laterish.\u00a0 My gaming time and budget being what it is, I don\u2019t mind waiting.\u00a0 And I am no longer worried about Nintendo. They had a strong show.\u00a0 Now where\u2019s my Mother 3? \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
