Retro PSA: If you were planning on acquiring some Vectrex homebrews, now’s the time…

After 17 years, John Dondzila is throwing in the towel.  John was the first to program after market ‘homebrew’ games for the Vectrex with Vector Vaders in 1996, and he has since gone on to create many, many more games for the Vectrex and other classic systems.  If that wasn’t enough, he also sells Vectrex homebrews written by other authors.

John says, “I will be selling them until year’s end or when I run out of parts, whichever comes first.”  If you are wondering what to order, try them out in an emulator first.  The ParaJVE emulator runs well on the PC and even displays the overlays, and since Vectrex software is in the Public Domain, most of the games are included in the .ZIP file.  (For the record, I decided to order Vectopia, Vecmania, Moon Lander, and Protector/YASI.)

John’s Classic Game Creations website is located here.

EDIT: John’s Vectrex Games are now available via Packrat Video Games.

Thanks John, for all you’ve given to fans of the Vectrex and classic gaming!  I wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors.

Cheers,
Ben
